Firebird VII by Gibson
The Firebird VII was the top-line member of Gibson's original Firebird family of guitars that was first released in 1963. It featured
the reverse body styling until midway through 1965, then the non-reversed until the end of the run in '69. The orange-and-black
sunburst was the most numerous color, although custom colors were available.
The Firebird VII sports the 'neck-through' design with the side wings glued in place. It features three pickups and a tune-o-matic
bridge; mahogany body; banjo tuners; ebony fingerboard with square mother-of-pearl inlays; and a white pickguard with the Firebird
logo printed on it in red.
The Firebird VII originally retailed for $445.00. It has been reissued in a handful of additions beginning in the 1990's.
