SG Custom by Gibson
The SG Custom was the premium member of Gibson's line of double-horned SG guitars. Introduced in 1963, the model took the place of the
earlier Les Paul Custom.
The Custom featured three humbucking pickups; pearl block inlays; gold-plated hardware (a carryover from the LP Custom); most models
featured a vibrato tailpiece with large coverplate (although the model shown below, from 1979, has only a regular stop tailpiece).
Unlike its predecessor the Black Beauty, the Custom was only available in white until 1969, when buyers could choose between white or
walnut, then a range of colors thereafter.
